Day 1

Punta Arenas - Cerro Sombrero (ca. 217 km, about 3 hrs)

Camper pick-up at 9 am. Early departure to Punta Delgada. Then ferry crossing (approx. 20 min.) to Tierra del Fuego. Continue to Cerro Sombrero. In the afternoon we recommend an excursion to Onaisín, on the bay of Bahía Inútil (approx. 83 km, approx. 1 h/route). A colony of king penguins has settled here, which are otherwise only found on the Falkland Islands outside of Antarctica (no visit possible on Mondays).

Day 2

Cerro Sombrero - Ushuaia (about 420 km, ca. 5 hrs)

Continue south through a mountain landscape rich in forests and moors, past the huge Lago Fagnano to Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world.

Day 3 - 5

Ushuaia - Excursions at the end of the world

We recommend a visit to the famous Tierra del Fuego National Park, a hike to the Martial Glacier and a boat trip on the Beagle Channel.

Day 6

Ushuaia - Rio Grande (215 km, about 2-3 hrs)

In the afternoon: drive north to Rio Grande.

Day 7

Rio Grande - El Calafate (670 km, about 8 hrs)

Today you leave Tierra del Fuego. You will reach the South American mainland again by ferry at Punta Delgada. After arrival, drive to the Argentinian border and continue via Rio Gallegos to El Calafate on Lago Argentino, the starting point for the magnificent Los Glaciares National Park.

Day 8

Perito Moreno Gletscher

Use today to visit the spectacular Perito Moreno Glacier, whose ice blocks fall into the glacial lake at regular intervals.

Day 9

El Calafate - Torres del Paine National park (300 km, about 4,5 hrs)

Today's journey takes you back to Chile via El Calafate and the Cerro Castillo border crossing into the Torres del Paine National Park.

Day 10 - 11

Excursions from Puerto Natales

Day 10: Las Torres Lookout Today's stage is one of the most beautiful and popular hikes in the park. It takes you up to the viewpoint of the three striking towers of the Paine massif. You hike into the valley of the small Rio Ascensio, along the slope of which the trail slowly but steadily winds its way upwards. After a short break at Refugio Chileno (410 m), you continue to follow the river before plunging into the dense green of the forest. Every now and then you can catch brief glimpses of the tops of the towers. Just cross a scree field and then the breathtaking amphitheater opens up before you. At the viewpoints (870 m) directly below the granite towers, the three rock giants tower up in front of you. Together with the Laguna Torres, the result is a picturesque and unforgettable sight. Back at your accommodation, the vehicle is already waiting to take you back to Puerto Natales. Overnight stay at the hotel. (Walking time approx. 8h, 950 m↑↓, 18 km)

Day 11: Use the day for exploring and hiking from Puerto Natales. Possibly a boat trip to the Grey Glacier. In the evening, continue to Punta Arenas.
