Day 1

Arrival in Uruguay by ferry in Colonia del Sacramento

Today you take the Buquebus - a ferry from Buenos Aires across the Rio de la Plata to Colonia del Sacramento in Uruguay. You will be met at the pier by a hotel employee and taken to your hotel. After lunch, you will go on a guided city tour of Colonia - a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1995. The colonial city - el Barrio Historico - enchants visitors with its cobbled old town streets, vintage cars and a mix of neoclassical style and Iberian architecture from different eras, in which the world powers of the time, Spain and Portugal, held sway here. Other important stops on the tour include the lighthouse, Rambla Colonia and the Portuguese Museum. The points of interest can be customized.

Day 2

Winery, olive plantations and Estancia La Vigna

Today's excursion, with a local guide, is 100 percent dedicated to Uruguayan gastronomy. You will first visit the El Quinton winery with its vineyards and olive plantations, including olive oil and wine tastings. You will then continue to Estancia La Vigna, where you will be served the best cheese produced on the estate.

Return to Colonia del Sacramento in the afternoon. B&B

Day 3

Drive by rental car to Carmelo via "Calera de las Huerfanas"

After breakfast, pick up the rental car and drive to Carmelo. On the way there, you will visit the Jesuit ruins "Calera de las Huerfanas", the origin of the history of wine in Uruguay. You will reach the El Legado winery in Carmelo in the early afternoon, where you will enjoy lunch followed by a wine tasting.

Day 4

Cross country journey to Montevideo

In the late morning, you set off for Montevideo. The overland journey takes about three hours. Arrival Montevideo approx. 3 pm. Drop off the rental car at the Montevideo city office. Transfer to the hotel.

Day 5

Montevideo city tour

After breakfast, you will meet your guide for a city tour (half-day, 3.5 hours, privately guided). You start in the old town, where you are staying, which already provides plenty of photo opportunities, and then spend the remaining hours visiting squares, museums, markets and viewpoints (list to choose from) according to your preferences.

In the afternoon, you can visit the waterfront promenade and/or a park on your own, where Uruguayans play chess and dance the tango. B&B.

Day 6

Free day at your disposal

Today you can simply enjoy Montevideo and plan your program at your own pace. We will support you with lots of tips and are happy to recommend some top restaurants. A day trip to Punta del Este could also be planned. B&B.

Day 7

Airport transfer

After breakfast, take a cab to Montevideo International Airport and fly to Santiago de Chile.
