Day 1

Journey to Colca Canyon

Early in the morning, you start your approx. five-hour drive to the Colca Valley. On the way, with a bit of luck, you can admire vicuñas, the rarest South American llama species. You will also have many short stops to get to know the special features of the Colca Valley, enjoy the incomparable valley view and visit various villages typical of this region. To help you get used to the altitude (highest point 4,850m), you will be served a cup of coca tea. This is a traditional Peruvian drink that is said to have many health-giving properties.

In favourable weather conditions, the condors often rise from the canyon just a few metres away from you to go hunting. Afterwards, you will take a short hike along the edge of the canyon and continue to the viewpoint "Antahuilque", from where you have a very good view of more than 1,500 year old pre-Inca terraces. After returning to the village of Chivay, where you have time for lunch, you return to your hotel for a short rest.

In the afternoon, you will then set off refreshed for a visit to the natural thermal baths set among the picturesque mountains. Overnight at the Hotel Casa Andina Colca.

Day 2

Drive to Cusco by tourist bus

In the morning, you will walk to the bus station of Chivay (200m from the hotel) on your own and continue your journey in the tourist bus to Cuzco. On the way you will visit the Castillos de Callalli, the Bosque de Piedras and the Laguna de Langui (with other participants). Arrival in Cuzco in the early evening.
