Day 1

Cusco - Huacuhuasi Camp

Early morning pick up from the hotel and drive to the Sacred Valley of the Incas in the small town of Calca. From Calca you will drive up to the village of Lares for about 4.5 hours, where you can relax with a bath in the thermal springs. After lunch you will start the 4-hour hike. Starting from Lares you climb up to the typical Andean mountain village of Huacahuasi, where the camp will set up for the night. M/A

Day 2

Ipsayccasa Pass and Hike to Patacancha

In the morning you start your 4-hour ascent to the Ipsayccasa Pass, from where you have a unique view of Monte Veronika and the surrounding snow-capped peaks. Afterwards you descend to Lake Ipsaycocha, where you can observe Andean geese, the Puna Ibis and other water birds. Hike to Patacancha. F/M/A

Day 3

End of the Lares Trekking and drive to Aguas Calientes

Today you hike about 4 hours downhill with panoramic views over the wide valley with its extensive archaeological sites and numerous animal and plant species. Afterwards you continue to Ollantaytambo, where you take the train, which takes you through the Urubamba Valley to Aguas Calientes. Overnight in simple accommodation. F/M/A

Day 4

Machu Picchu - Cusco

After an early breakfast, take one of the first buses from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu to visit the famous Inca site as early as possible. After a guided tour of the ruins, you will have time for your own explorations before taking the expedition train to Ollantaytambo or Poroy in the afternoon. Transfer to your accommodation in Cuzco. F
