Day 2
Quito city tour & Equator monument
Today you explore Ecuador’s capital and its impressive colonial old town, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. During a guided tour you visit historic squares, magnificent churches and enjoy panoramic views over the city and the surrounding volcanoes from El Panecillo viewpoint. Afterwards you visit the famous “Mitad del Mundo” Equator monument and the interactive Intiñan Museum.
Day 3
Otavalo market & Andean highlands excursion
An early morning drive takes you north through scenic Andean landscapes to the Quitsato Equator sundial. Continue to the colourful handicraft market of Otavalo, renowned for its traditional textiles and local products. In the afternoon you visit the Condor Park, where you witness an impressive flight demonstration of South American birds of prey and enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding mountains.
Day 4
Transfer from your hotel to Quito airport
Flight to the Galapagos Islands
Santa Cruz with highlands & Charles Darwin Station
After arrival on the Galapgos Islands you will meet your guide with whom you cross the Itabaca Channel and travel into the lush highlands of Santa Cruz Island. Visit El Chato Reserve to observe giant tortoises in their natural habitat. Continue to Puerto Ayora to explore the Charles Darwin Research Station before transfer to your hotel.
Day 4 - 7
Overnight stay on Santa Cruz Island.
Day 5
Bartolome Island & Sullivan Bay excursion
Today’s boat excursion takes you to Bartolome Island, famous for its dramatic volcanic landscapes and the iconic Pinnacle Rock. After a short hike you enjoy spectacular panoramic views over the archipelago. Later you visit Sullivan Bay on Santiago Island, where you can walk across young lava formations or snorkel in the clear waters.
Day 6
North Seymour & Bachas Beach excursion
Explore North Seymour Island, known for its colonies of blue-footed boobies, frigatebirds and sea lions. After a guided walk through the characteristic vegetation you continue to the white sand beach of Las Bachas on Santa Cruz Island. Time to relax, swim or discover the marine life while snorkelling.
Day 7
Transfer from your hotel to the harbour
Speedboat transfer from Puerto Ayora to Isabela Island
Transfer from the harbour to your hotel in Puerto Villamil
Day 7 - 9
Overnight stay on Isabela Island.
Day 8
Las Tintoreras snorkelling excursion
Boat excursion to the small islets of Las Tintoreras, characterised by fascinating lava formations and large colonies of marine iguanas. During snorkelling you explore the rich underwater world with sea turtles, colourful fish and, with some luck, white-tip reef sharks.
Giant tortoise breeding centre visit
In the afternoon visit the Arnaldo Tupiza giant tortoise breeding centre near Puerto Villamil to learn about conservation efforts and different subspecies native to Isabela Island.
Day 9
Bike tour, Wall of Tears & wetlands
A relaxed bike ride takes you along the coastline to several visitor sites, including the historic “Wall of Tears”, scenic bays and the biologically rich wetlands of the island.
Flamingo lagoon
Visit a calm lagoon where you have excellent opportunities to observe flamingos in their natural habitat.
Day 10
Transfer to the airport
Inter-island flight to San Cristobal
Transfer to your hotel
Day 9 - 13
Overnight stay on San Cristobal Island.
Day 11
Española Island day tour
Full-day boat excursion to the remote island of Española. Enjoy snorkelling at Gardner Bay and a guided walk at Punta Suarez, where you may observe endemic bird species, marine iguanas and – depending on the season – the famous waved albatross.
Day 12
San Cristobal exploration at leisure
Free time to explore Puerto Baquerizo Moreno independently. Visit nearby beaches, the Interpretation Centre or simply enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of this small coastal town.
