Wool market of Salasaca
Galapagos PRO recommendation: A certain extra for your Ecuador experience.
Salasca is a small village, 16 km from Ambato on the way to BaƱos. Sunday is main market day but you can find every day the outside stalls and shops open. The Salasaca Indians were originally from Bolivia and were transplanted by the Incas to Ecuador. You may notice small differences in the design of their textiles. It is a favorite place for many to buy wool sweaters and wall carpets as it is well known throughout the country for their high quality
This is a recommended excursion, which is not included in the price.
