Day 1

Quito - Lago Agrio

Transfer with a morning flight or an overnight bus the night before (8 hours) to Lago Agrio.

Transfer to Cuyabeno

Drive from Lago Agrio to El Puente. Canoe trip on the Cuyabeno River to the lodge. Enjoy the beautiful sunset over the river, followed by an exciting night hike, giving you the opportunity to see some of the jungle's nocturnal creatures and experience the special atmosphere after dark.

Day 2

Walk in primary forest

After breakfast, take a hike in the primary forest including lessons on the use of medicinal plants for survival. After lunch, head down to the river and relax.

Day 3

Cuyabeno River

After breakfast, paddle in a traditional dug-out canoe on Laguna del Caiman to enjoy the unique of nature of this area. Return to the camp for lunch and then take a hike in the primary forest including lessons on the use of medicinal plants for survival. The destination of your hike is the lovely Laguna Grande, where you can swim and enjoy the sunset. If conditions permit, you may even be able to see pink dolphins. Return to lodge in time for dinner.

Day 4

Cuyabeno River

In the morning you will hike to the Tarapuy community and a nature guide will enlighten you about the culture and customs of the locals. Try your hand at fishing for Piranha in the afternoon and then head back to the lodge. You may choose to join a night canoe trip to look for caimans.

Day 5

Cuyabeno - Lago Agrio

Rise early to enjoy some early morning bird watching before breakfast. Navigating the Cuyabeno river back to El Puente, including a packed lunch. Transfer to Lago Agrio.

Transfer to Quito

Return to Quito by bus or plane.
