Day 1 - 4

Each day, a new activity

Your program at the lodge begins with lunch on the day of your arrival.

Monday: After breakfast, take a canoe ride along the Manduro River to the Sapococha Lagoon. This is ideal for a short hike where you can listen to the concert of birds, frogs, monkeys, etc. You will learn a lot about the underwater flora.

Later, after lunch, hike the Socali Path through various jungle landscapes and learn about the diversity of flora and fauna. Dinner and an evening to spend at your leisure, back at the lodge.

Tuesday and Saturday: Your first excursion of the day will take you to the Kapibara (or Creeper) Trail, an adventure trail with many swamps. This area is home to palm trees that are not found anywhere else.

Equipped with rubber boots and comfortable clothing, after a fortifying lunch you will learn how to use the blowgun, one of the most important hunting weapons of the local indigenous people. Take the small canoes to try your hand at piranha fishing.

Wednesday: Rubber boots and comfortable clothing will be needed again this morning. After breakfast you can take a canoe down the river to the Dos Ramas path. Do not forget your camera, because here you can see exotic birds, butterflies, orchids and amphibians.

Later, take a short trip and learn all about the medicinal plants, as well as the birds and other animals found here. Dinner and an evening to spend at your leisure, back at the lodge.

Thursday and Sunday: After breakfast, you leave the reserve by motorboat and visit the family of a local Quichua community. Your guide will introduce you to the traditions and customs of the tribes living here.

Enjoy lunch at the lodge, then hike along the Guatusos Trail. Here's another opportunity to let your nature guide illustrate the benefits of some plants, birds and insects found in this patch of forest.

Friday: Today, the first excursion takes you far into the jungle to a small river surrounded by stones, sand, clay and other materials. Here you have the opportunity to try panning for gold. Maybe this is your lucky day?!

Later, after lunch, hike the Socali Path through various jungle landscapes and learn about the diversity of flora and fauna. Dinner and an evening to spend at your leisure, back at the lodge.
