Watch whales in the wild
The number of humpback whales spotted annually off the Pacific coast of Ecuador may change from year to year, but the number ranges from 400 to 2,600. The first humpback whales that arrive each year on the Pacific coast of Ecuador are always the young males that appear in larger groups and are relatively close to the coast. They are the whales most commonly seen observing their acrobatic jumps to catch the attention of females. Humpback whales are about 12-15 feet long and weighs about 30,000 kilograms. Despite their massive size, they are incredibly athletic and can jump several meters out of the water.
