The Rainbow Valley of the Atacama Desert

This half-day tour begins with a visit to the rock paintings of Yerbas Buenas, where you can see images of animals, humans, and geometric shapes, created long ago by the native Atacameños. Afterwards, the village of Rio Grande is toured before taking a stroll through the Valle Arcoiris (Rainbow Valley). The valley is aptly-named, because the bizarre rock formations, walls and towers formed by the biting desert winds glow in a wide range of colours, from deep red, to white, to esmerald green – truly a fascinating experience. Transfer back to San Pedro after the walk.
