Day 1
From Km 82 via Patallacta to Huayllabamba
Early morning transfer to the meeting point at km 82, the starting point of the trekking tour. You start with an easy hike and reach the archaeological site of Patallacta after around two hours. After a lunch break, you continue with an easy, approximately two-hour ascent into a subtropical mountain valley, where the Huayllabamba Camp is located. M/A

Day 2
Ascent to the Huarmi Huañusca Pass
You set off from camp in the early hours of the morning for the most strenuous day of the trek. After a 2-hour hike through lush vegetation, you reach the highest point of the Inca Trail, the Huarmi Huañusca Pass at 4,215 meters above sea level, from where you can enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of the surrounding area. After a break, descend to Camp Paccaymayu. F/M/A

Day 3
Runkuracay to Wiñaywayna
After breakfast, climb up to the ruins of Runkuracay. Once there, take a break to get to know the site better. Another hike takes you to the top of the Abra de Runkuracay pass. On the other side of the pass, you descend towards the archaeological sites of Sayacmarca, Phuyupatamarca and Wiñawayna. Finally, you reach the archaeological site of Wiñaywayna. Your third camp is not far from the site. F/M/A

Day 4
Wiñayhuayna – Machu Picchu - Cusco
This is the most important day of the trip. Early in the morning after breakfast, you will head through the subtropical forest towards the mystical Intipunku (Sun Gate), from where you will have a magnificent panoramic view of the mysterious citadel of Machu Picchu. In another 30 minutes you will reach the citadel of Machu Picchu, where a detailed guided tour awaits you. You then continue to the next checkpoint, from where you take the shuttle bus down to the village of Aguas Calientes. Overnight stay in Aguas Calientes.

Day 5
Inka-Ruins and ride back to Cusco
Immediately after breakfast, you set off and take the bus back to the ruins of Machu Picchu. You will visit the ruins and have the opportunity to explore the area on your own. We then take the shuttle bus back to Aguas Calientes to catch the train back to Ollantaytambo, where a driver will be waiting to take you back to Cusco.
