Your Travel Experience with Galapagos PRO
Bicycle tour to the wall of tears, turtle breeding and flamingo lagoon
Today begins early in the morning at the port of Puerto Ayora. By speedboat you go to the largest island in the archipelago, Isabela. At the port you will be welcomed by the Galapagos PRO staff member and taken to the bicycle shop. On the way there, she will explain the daily routine to you.
Then you get on your bike and ride to the Wall of Tears: It was built by convicts in the 1940s. On the way there, you will stop at the enchanting bays where huge sea iguanas lie in the sun and sea lions splash about. Along the way you will pass by tortoises.
Once you reach the Wall of Tears, you can walk up to the lookout point. From there you have a fantastic view of the Sierra Negra volcano and the beaches of the island. After a picnic you drive back to Puerto Villamil and turn left at the entrance of the village to the turtle breeding area. In the enclosures you can see endemic turtle species of the island Isabela.
Afterwards you cycle a little further to the Flamingo Lagoon. From there you return to the bike shop. At around 3 pm you take the speedboat back to Santa Cruz Island.
