Your Travel Experience with Galapagos PRO
Visit the viewpoint of El Condenso.
Galapagos PRO recommendation: This excursion should not be missing in your Galapagos experience. You can go on your own or with a naturalist guide. For groups of 5 or more, the National Park always requires a naturalist guide to accompany you.
To the El Condenso viewpoint:
El Condenso is a brand new visitor point about 6 kilometers west of Puerto Villamil. The hike takes about 4 hours in total. You should be good on your feet for this excursion and be able to tolerate a lot of sun. The trail to El Condenso is on the way towards Muro de las Lágrimas (Wall of Tears), before the Orchilla viewpoint on the left. It is a surf spot that often offers big waves. This part of the coast is made of lava rock and is NOT suitable for swimming. There is also a hiking trail to an elevation where you can get a nice view of the coast. Isabela Island is home to a variety of lava and sea lizards. It is also home to Darwin's finches and Galapagos buzzards. You may also encounter a giant tortoise or two along the way, crossing the path or enjoying some cooling under a bush. So have your camera ready Wear sturdy shoes and take enough water with you.
