Day 1

Antisana Reserve

To being this tour, we will leave Quito early, eastward bound toward the Antisana Volcano. The drive will take you over 4,100 meters high as we make a stop in Papallacta. If you fancy, you can enjoy a dip and a rejuvenating session at the SPA. Lunch will be served at the Tambocondor-Lodge.

The Antisanilla bird reserve is a truly magical place with a dazzling view of the glaciers glistening under the sunlight. We will embark on a hike along dry Páramo in search of the famous Andes Condor, the black-faced ibis as well as the Ecuadorian hillstar. A nearby lake is home to a variety of waterfowl, including the silvery grebe. With a little luck, we might even get to see spectacled bears here.

You will spend the night at the Tambocondor-Lodge.

Day 2

Hiking at Antisanilla Nationalpark

Depending on the weather and your stamina, the nature guide will bring you for a hike at the Antisanilla National park after breakfast. For those who are eager to meet the spectacled bears, the guide will provide tips on the best places to spot them. We will head back to Quito after lunch at the Tambocondor Lodge.

Note: According to the park operator, there is about a 50 percent chance of seeing spectacled bears. The park ranger will accompany all visitors during the tour.
