You will also visit the Tumbes Reales de Sipa Archaeological Museum, which houses numerous important artifacts from the pre-Inca period. It is one of Peru’s most significant archaeological museums. It houses the treasures of the Moche culture, including the tomb of the famous “Lord of Sipán,” with over 400 gold, silver, and jewel-encrusted artifacts. Opened in 2002, the modern museum is modeled after the structure of a Moche pyramid.
