Day 1

Travel to the Amazon Lodge

You will be picked up from your hotel early in the morning and travel through beautiful landscapes towards the Amazon. The journey takes about 3 hours and takes place most of the time in a standard vehicle. Please note that there are no disabled toilets on the route.

Arrive at the lodge and visit an indigenous community

You will arrive at Huasquila Amazonas Lodge around 1pm where you will first be introduced to the facility and presented with a brief summary of your tour. Afterwards, enjoy a welcome drink and a tasty lunch. In the afternoon, visit an indigenous Kichwa community for the opportunity to interact with locals, and get to know their customs, traditions, food and lifestyle. In the early evening, return to the lodge for dinner.

Day 2

Exploration of the secondary forest in the banquet chair

In the morning you will explore the local secondary forest in a purpose-built wheelchair and get the medicinal plants that are found here by a native nature guide. The path through the forest is about 400 meters and usually takes 30 minutes. There will be enough pauses.

Note: If for any reason you are not able to participate in this activity, a local nature guide will bring back the medicinal herbs that grow here, explaining the various possibilities for using local plants.

After lunch, visit the Ark rescue center, which is only a few minutes away by car. Here you can explore the surroundings again. This trip, where you can see the most representative animals of the Amazon, takes about 1 hour. In the afternoon, return to Huasquila Lodge where you will also receive dinner.

Day 3

Canoeing on the Rio Anzu

Equipped with helmet and life jacket, you can start the morning with a canoe trip on the Rio Anzu to admire the beauty of the local flora and fauna. This is really the best experience in the Amazon. During the journey you will have the opportunity to take plenty of photos.

The river is very quiet all year round and you will be accompanied by trained personnel and another kayak for safety at all times. Manual entry aids are available for conversion.

The trip ends around 3pm with the return to the lodge. The afternoon you have at leisure can relax and unwind with a glass of wine or fresh juice.

Day 4

Return to Quito

After breakfast, we say good-bye. You will be taken back from the lodge back to your hotel in Quito. The journey takes about 3 hours and takes place most of the time in a standard vehicle. Please note that there are no disabled facilities on the route.
