Day 2

Hike at the volcano Chimborazo

Early in the morning we drive to the extinct volcano Chimborazo, Ecuador's highest mountain with over 6,300 meters. Very early in the morning we go to the station of Alausí. From there we take the "Andenbahn" along the Teufelsnase - Nariz del Diablo, as the Ecuadorians call it. In the zig-zag it goes downhill and uphill again. In the early afternoon we continue southwards. Depending on the time of the day we stop briefly in Ingapirca, one of the few incasites in Ecuador. In the evening we reach Cuenca. Overnight at ***** Hotel Mansion Alcazar.

Day 4

Visit the city of Cuenca

Today we will spend the day at the beautiful city of Cuenca - the cultural metropolis in the south of Ecuador. In the afternoon we enjoy the city on our own. Overnight at ***** Hotel Mansion Alcazar.

Today you will reach the Cajas National Park. About 200 lagoons are spread over an altitude of 3,150 to 4,450 meters. After a short walk we continue on a pass to Guayaquil.
