Visit the famous Inca ruin Machu Picchu
In the morning, your diver will pick you up from the hotel and drive you to the train station in Poroy or Ollantaytambo. Catch your train to the mysterious and breath-taking ancient ruin complex in all of South America, passing little villages in the wonderful landscape of the Urubamba Valley. At Aguas Calientes, you will take a shuttle bus up to Machu Picchu.
Machu Picchu is an Inca city surrounded by temples, terraces, and canals, built on top of a mountain. The structure was built using blocks of stone without mortar. Today, the site is considered a World Heritage and is recognized as a once important political, religious and administrative center of the Inca civilization.

Return to Machu Piccu and train back to Cusco
Today offers a second opportunity to explore Machu Picchu, this time at your own pace. We recommend grabbing an early breakfast and driving up to the ruins directly afterwards - with a bit of luck you can explore Machu Picchu before the first tourists arrive by train from Cusco or Ollantaytambo. For those who are more ambitious, we recommend an ascent of the Huayna Picchu (tickets must be bought in advance), or a walk to the Sonnentor Inti Punko, a former checkpoint from where you can enjoy a magnificent view of Machu Picchu. In the afternoon, take the shuttle bus back to Aguas Calientes to take your train back to Poroy or Ollantaytambo. At the station you will be picked up and taken to your hotel in Cusco.
